School Sponsor FAQs
A VirtualSC School Sponsor is a public school, private school, home school parent or Adult Education center that approves one of their enrolled students for a VirtualSC course.
Among other things, a VirtualSC School Sponsor must:
- Approve students for their VSC course.
- Monitor student progress in their VSC course.
- Assist in providing IEP and 504 accommodations.
- Provide a proctored environment for online VSC final exams.
- Record the VSC course on the student’s high school transcript and give high school credit based on the grade issued by VSC.

Yes! Sponsor schools may provide students with a computer, or computer lab to work on their courses. However, some courses will require students to work from home at night, on the weekends, or over school holidays.
