Steps to Registration

Step 1


Create A Student Account

If you do not already have a VirtualSC student account, please Click Here to create an account. If you do already have a VSC student account, please move on to Step 2.

 TIP: If you receive the "Duplicate Account" notice, this means that you already have an account. Please contact Student Services to confirm your email address and reset your password.

Step 2


Log In to the Student Account

Once the Student Enrollment Form is submitted, an email will be sent to you containing your username and password. The username and password are case sensitive!

Use the credentials to login to the Dashboard.

Step 3


Select Your Courses

Once you are logged in, click on the Registration tab on your Dashboard. From here, select the courses you need.

Click the "open" or "waitlist" buttons next to the course you are requesting, and wait for the button to change to "selected."

Confirm Your Course Selections

The course selection process is NOT complete until you confirm your course selection in the backpack.

Once you have selected the courses you need, scroll to the bottom of the registration screen and hit "continue". The next screen will require you to confirm your selections before the request can be sent to the counselor for approval.

Step 5


School Counselor Reviews Request

Once courses are confirmed in the backpack by the student, the request is sent to the student's school counselor, who must approve or deny the request in the Dashboard within 72 hours.

If the request is not approved within 72 hours, the request will expire and the student must begin the registration process from Step 2.

Step 6


Student Joins Placement Queue

If the counselor approves the course request, it means that the school is agreeing to sponsor the student in the course. Once this occurs, the student joins the placement queue for the course. 

Being approved does not imply that the student is already in the course. Student placement is still subject to seat availability.

Step 7


Check Your Registration Status

To check your registration status, login to your Dashboard and select the Registration tab. Once you have entered the Registration screen, choose Registration Status from the left-hand menu.

Use the key below to determine your progress in the registration process:

 

Awaiting Approval - You have successfully requested your courses, and you are waiting for your counselor to approve or deny your request.

 

Awaiting Seat Availability - The course is full, or does not have enough seats loaded. This status means you are on the waitlist until a seat becomes available.

 

Approved - Your school counselor has approved your course, but you have not been placed into a section yet. 

 

Complete - Congratulations! The registration process is finished for the course when the status says "Complete" - you have been placed into a course and have been assigned to a teacher.

 

Approval Denied - Your school counselor has denied your course request. Please contact your school for more information.

 

Request Expired - Your course request was not approved within the 72-hour window. Please request the course again and contact your school counselor to ensure they know that you plan to take an online course.
