We do not limit the amount of courses that a student may take through VirtualSC but we recommend no more than 3 based on the individual student situation. Keep in mind, that we may not offer all of the same courses in a given registration period.
Our courses are offered for free to South Carolina students.
Courses are accessible to students 24/7 during their duration; however, the courses are not self-paced. Students are provided a pacing guides at the start of their courses and are expected to keep up with the dates and deadlines in the pacing guide. Students may work ahead of their pacing guide.
All of our courses are taught by highly qualified SC certified teachers.

Students are not required to own a computer, but we do require that students have access to a computer with internet. Computers are not provided to students using our program.
For the most part, yes. Some courses (Honors & AP English, Latin) may require additional texts or materials. Information about required materials for a particular course may be found in the required materials section in a course's syllabus found on our Course Catalog Web-page.
Per the VSC Homeschool Enrollment Policy, we may not advise students on what courses they need to take. As the homeschool parent/guardian, it is best to reach out to the homeschool association for advisement.
