VirtualSC Adjunct Teacher of the Year – Courtney West

VirtualSC is thrilled to announce Courtney West, VirtualSC Adjunct English Teacher, as the 2018 Adjunct Teacher of the year. Courtney West has taught for sixteen years, nine of which have been with VirtualSC.  She earned a bachelor’s degree in secondary education and English from Augustana College and a masters in literacy from The Citadel. Courtney is passionate about teaching English with VirtualSC as she believes online learning provides an exciting opportunity for students to learn content while also developing 21st century skills that will serve them well into the future. She also enjoys the innovation online learning allows her in connecting with students and delivering content. Courtney is a National Board Certified Teacher and a member of the National Council of Teachers of English. She resides in Charleston, South Carolina, where she is actively involved in her church and her children’s school. When she is not working with students, she, her husband, and their two children enjoy traveling, camping, and hiking.
