2024-25 School Advisory Board

The goal of the VirtualSC School Advisory Board is to obtain direct feedback from School Counselors, Administrators and Teachers in order to improve and evolve the VirtualSC program to best serve the needs of students. Board members provide feedback on registration cycles, program policy and procedure, program flexibility, communication and overall program improvement and vision.

Teresa Crumley 2024-2026 Teresa Crumley has over 16 years teaching experience as a certified Social Studies teacher. Over the past 10 years, Teresa has worked as an adjunct teacher for VirtualSC and Berkeley County Virtual Learning Programs. Teresa was selected as VirtualSC Franchise Teacher of the Year in 2018 and VirtualSC Adjunct Teacher of the Year in 2023. Teresa is employed with Berkeley County Adult Education's High School Diploma Program and serves as the liaison for our adult students in completing their high school diploma.
J. Sarah Floyd 2024-2025 Sarah Floyd was born and raised in Germany and moved to the States as a teenager. After High School she came to South Carolina to study at the University of South Carolina, where she received a BA in German with a minor in Spanish and a Masters in the Art of Teaching German. Sarah completed a second Master in Education with the focus of Divergent Learning from Columbia College. This is her 18th year teaching German and 7th year teaching at VirtualSC. Sarah has taught as well as developed all levels of German VirtualSC offers: German I, II and IIIHN. Sarah provides her students with varied instruction to make the online environment as engaging as possible and is also very passionate about collaborating with colleagues to support students' academic excellence.
Chrys Hill 2023-2025 Chrys Hill is currently the Director of School Counseling at Laurens High School in Laurens 55. She attended Johnson C. Smith University, where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts. She also attended Clemson University where she obtained a Master of Education in School Counseling.
Brandy Mullenax 2023-2025 Brandy Mullennax is the Head of School at Holly Hill Academy. She has been in administration for the past eight years. Previously she served as an educator for twenty years. She is a Guardian Ad Litem for the South Carolina Court System.
Michelle Palczewski 2024-2026 Michelle Palczewski has a Bachelor of Arts with a major in Psychology, a minor in Sociology, and a Master of Science with a major Psychology. Michelle has worked in many different areas of education including teaching, administration, and college instruction. Michelle opened the Hometown Homeschool Association of South Carolina in 2020. Before that, she was homeschooling her children. Hometown Homeschool Assocation was opened to fill the need for an association that offered both accountability and the ability to help families navigate their homeschool journey.
Anya Stewart 2024-2026 Anya Stewart is currently a school counselor at North Augusta High School in Aiken County. Previously, she worked in Anderson One and Lexington One school districts. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Wofford College and a Master degree in Counselor Education from Clemson University.
William Sumerel 2023-2025 William Sumerel, Registrar at Boiling Springs High School in Spartanburg School District Two has served in public education for 27 years. William holds a Master of Education degree in Counselor Education from Clemson University and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of South Carolina. He also holds certification as a Global Career Development Facilitator and as a Certified Career Services Provider. William serves as a district ADEPT Evaluator for Spartanburg School District Two. He was recognized as the South Carolina PTA Outstanding Support Person of the year and a two-time award recipient of the Exemplary JAG Model Program while at Chesnee High School. William is a member of the American School Counselor Association, Palmetto State School Counselor Association and Chi Sigma Iota. When he is not working, he enjoys spending time with his family and is active within his church.
Sarah Vann 2023-2025 Sarah Vann is an Assistant Principal at Lowcountry Leadership Charter School. She has worked in education for ten years, in both K-12 and higher education settings. Before transitioning into school administration, Sarah was a director of school counseling, overseeing middle and high school programs. Sarah earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Converse College and a Master degree in Counselor Education from Clemson University. Studying educational leadership and supervision, she completed additional graduate coursework at The Citadel Graduate College. Sarah's educational background as a professional counselor-educator influences her student-centered educational philosophy. She is committed to developing and sustaining school systems that support high-quality educational experiences. Sarah values partnerships with stakeholders to develop academic opportunities and increase accessibility for students across South Carolina.
Genetta Vinson 2024-2026 Genetta Vinson is currently the School Counselor at Legion Collegiate Academy in Rock Hill, SC. While this is her third year in education, she has spent countless years volunteering in the educational arena in some capacity. Genetta is a member of the American Counseling Association, the American School Counselors Association, Palmetto State School Counselor Association, and the Southern Association for College Admissions Counseling.
